Inspection Process
Departure
- Camera and locator fully charged
- Make sure consumables are fully stocked for the day/week
- Make sure to have USB SD Card Reader
- Make sure to wear shoe protection
- Introduce yourself to the customer.
- Setup inspection area with floor protection to catch any moisture or debris from inspection process.
Inspection
- Use Solocator App. Take a picture of the front of the house with tablet
- Make sure NO ONE is going to be running water for the next 15 minutes
- Setup camera with micro SD memory card in reader
- Setup tablet with Google Docs — voice typing
- Run camera inspection to the city main and back, recording both directions. Using the camera’s mic and Google Docs voice typing to record your voice during the inspection.
- Show a picture of the access used to scope the line
- DO NOT under any circumstances remove a toilet or remove plumbing fixtures to perform inspection.
- DO NOT attempt to open pipes that could result in damage as a result of opening/closing or running the camera.
- Capture pictures of notable areas for the inspection report
- Describe the different pipe materials found during inspection
- DO NOT diagnose or recommend any kind of repair or replacement option whatsoever.
- Make sure to close up access securely and tightly to avoid leaks.
- Take a picture of the access used AFTER closing the cap
- Clean up any sign of mess left after inspection
- If there is any damage or notable issue, take a photo
- Leave a business card on the counter with the others
- Mark locates as directed (if requested). Do not use paint w/out permission.
- Take photos of marked areas for the report.
Finalize the report
- Insert SD Card in reader
- Create customer folder on GDrive (GT Folder)
- Move the photos and videos from SD card to customer folder on GDrive
- Move the photos taken on Solocator app saved in photos app to the customer folder on GDrive.
- Put the SD Card back in the camera system
- Generate the report online using https://www.groundtruthinspections.com/inspection-report.html
- Attach the photo of the front of the house to the report
- Inside Google Drive, make the customer folder sharable with “whoever has the link can view”
- Share the link (copy it) and paste it into the report builder for photo links and video links.
- Review the Google Docs voice typing report for errors, then copy/paste it into Report Builder
- Click generate report. The system will download a PDF version of the full report.
Send the report
- Share the PDF report by copying the Adobe cloud link, send through personal email to the customer’s email address used when booking via Calendly and include any additional people they listed (realtors, inspectors, spouse, etc)
- Include the local PDF attachment to the email in case the cloud link doesn’t work.
- Confirm in sent items that the email was sent
Collect payment
- Let the customer know that the report was sent to the email address used when booking.
- Let them know that if they have any questions a follow up consultation phone call or video call can be arranged at no cost.
- Let the customer know that an email was sent to them with a Google review link and give them a few minutes to leave a review.
- The final payment link is in the same email below the Google review link.
- Delete the customer photos, videos and PDF from the tablet hard drive. They are saved on GDrive and email now.
